The New Mexico State University Museum focuses on collecting anthropological artifacts that focus on the historic and pre-historic cultures that once existed in the region. The main permanent exhibit at the museum is 'Pottery from the Americas', a collection of nearly 600 pieces of pottery from Southwestern and Mesoamerican cultures. The museum is located on the New Mexico State University Campus, in the south part of town.
