The Las Cruces Museum of Natural History focuses on educating the public on the fascinating geologic, scientific, and environmental history of the area. The Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center contains more than 40 live animals, including lizards, snakes, spiders, and fish. The museum is located in the Mesilla Valley Mall, on the eastern edge of town.
